Koralta is a Canadian company formed in 2017 and has since been exporting specialty crops and grains to Asia and more recently is developing the Lupin pulse crop production system in Canada for export in the near future.
Exports of fababean, oats, barley and mustard are some of the grains being exported to South Korea and Vietnam at this time to fill demand for dairy and other animal feed markets. A new export office has been opened in Hanoi, Vietnam to service the large Asian markets for these specialty grains.
Lupin has been researched extensively in western Canada and certain varieties have been shown to grow well in certain regions.
A new fractionation plant is being built in Alberta for processing lupin and other pulse grains by late fall of 2021.
